Dr Carina Garland MP, the Federal Member for Chisholm, announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver upgrades to Dorothy Laver Reserve West in Ashburton to support local sport.
This $550,000 election commitment will help deliver an electronic scoreboard, small media viewing platform, turfing improvements and new fencing to benefit all players at the Alamein Football Club and Ashburton United Soccer Club.
The City of Boroondara and the community have advocated for this project, and Federal Labor has listened.
The Dorothy Laver Reserve West is used from grassroots to National Premier League Victoria and is utilised by both clubs for training and matches including the all-female Alamein FC.
This project builds on the Albanese Labor Government’s historic investments in women and girls in sport, including $200 million in Play Our Way Grants.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
