Labor Member for Chisholm, Dr Carina Garland MP, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the Glen Waverley Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival organised by the Monash Chinese Events Organising Committee.
The Glen Waverley Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival attracts visitors from all over Melbourne and has a range of traditional cultural activities, performances and food stalls to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
This $20,000 election commitment will support the annual local festival and celebrate Chinese traditions and culture with the wider community.
The Albanese Labor Government values the immense contributions of the Chinese Australian community to our nation, and the local Chisholm community.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
