Dr Carina Garland MP, Federal Member for Chisholm, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support Chinese New Year celebration events organised by the Chinese Association of Monash.

This $40,000 election commitment will enable the local community group to scale up their Chinese New Year celebration events.

The Chinese Association of Monash Chinese New Year celebration events facilitate community connection through gatherings, performances and art exhibitions especially with many of the association's members being older Chinese Australians.

The Albanese Labor Government values the immense contributions of the Chinese Australian community to our nation, and the local Chisholm community.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
